After decades of captivating audiences on both television and the big screen, Steve Martin has announced his retirement. Fans around the world will undoubtedly miss seeing him on their screens!
Steve Martin first became a household name with his role on "Saturday Night Live" and continued to build his fame with major films such as The Pink Panther, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Father of the Bride. His career only grew more impressive with time.

Even as he aged, Martin’s popularity remained strong. While many choose to retire in their 60s, Martin saw a resurgence in his career and experienced new milestones, including becoming a father for the first time. He married Anne Stringfield in 2007, and the couple welcomed their daughter in 2012.
Now, at 75, Martin feels it’s time to step away. He shared in a recent interview, “There’s a time in your career when people are dying to see you… Now is the time in my career when I’m the one who’s got to show up.”

Martin is currently starring in Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" alongside his longtime friend Martin Short and singer-actress Selena Gomez. He’s embraced his role, stating, “I’m very happy with my character not growing. Once you get to 75, there’s not a lot left to learn, only more mistakes. It’s about being true to the character.”
He also made it clear that once the show wraps, he won’t be seeking new projects or cameos. “When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. This is, weirdly, it,” Martin revealed.
Notably, Martin has been a frequent guest on "Saturday Night Live," appearing 19 times and hosting 15 times. He is also currently nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Charles Haden-Savage on "Only Murders in the Building."
